Register on-line to meet our initial eligibility criteria for egg donation. You will be contacted by our egg donor coordinator within 48 hours to confirm your eligibility for donation.
Have a face-to-face interview with one of our trained coordinators to discuss your medical background as well as that of your family. Here you will receive a complete review of the donation process. Your coordinator will assist in making your donation journey smooth and easy.
You will be asked to complete your lifestyle questionnaire, which should include your profile as well as all information about yours and your family medical history. This will be reviewed by the fertility consultant.
Your coordinator will book you for a consultation with a fertility consultant who will check your ovaries and uterus via vaginal and abdominal ultrasound examinations.
Following a medical consultation, some blood samples will also be taken for routine screening tests.
It is mandatory at Orian Gametes Ltd., for egg donors to have a session with our designated Fertility Counsellor. This is a platform where you can discuss all social and legal issues surrounding egg donations. You may also attend this session along with your spouse or partners. These sessions will generally be held via Skype or Zoom.
Once all the above steps are completed, you will be ‘registered’ as the ‘Egg Donor’ with the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA), who are the UK’s independent regulator of fertility treatment and research.
Once all the above steps are completed, you will receive information on the Egg Retrieval Treatment. All egg donors are required to undergo an IVF treatment to retrieve the eggs. You will go through the follicle growth treatment with hormone injections. This process will be closely monitored by a consultant or a fertility nurse. Surgical egg retrieval will be performed with ultrasound guidance and under light sedation.
